From the Pastor’s desk— March 1, 2025
Dear Parishioners,
I’m happy to announce that after months of preparation, the renovation of the rectory is finally complete! I’ve begun moving my things in this weekend and should be settled in quickly. Next weekend, my parents will bring over my dog Chip to join me. I can also share with you that another priest will be moving into the house to live in the upstairs rooms: Fr. Andrew Williams who serve as Director of Catholic Campus Ministry at the university.
I am very grateful to all of you who have supported this project. You may remember when I first announced the work on the rectory that the diocese would pay the largest bill for the contractor’s work and that the parish would be responsible for additional costs that came along the way. I do not have the final numbers for you just yet, I can say that nearly all expenses have already been paid through specified donations to the project. After the last expenses are paid, I will update you on the final financial statements.
I am humbled by how many of you have contributed to make this happen and I am very grateful. Thank you to all of you who gave individually, and I also want to thank our Knights of Columbus council for sponsoring the A/C condenser security cages and soon-to-come back fence. Thank you also to Heart to Heart for sponsoring the purchase of various housewares and linens. Thank you as well to those in the parish who contributed physical labor whether repairing outside masonry, installing new windows, or moving furniture.
After Fr. Andrew and I have the house ready to show, we will have an “open house” so you will have the opportunity to see the finished work. Please be patient until then, I look forward to sharing it with you. Please be patient with the exterior of the house as well. It will be freshly painted when the weather warms up again.
Fr. Joseph
