Dear Parishioners:

Lately I’ve been thinking about the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I’m grateful to have such a beautiful name for our church. Jesus has such a personal love for each of us. Sometimes we feel overlooked by everyone around us and we think even God must be too busy with somebody else’s prayers to hear ours. Nothing could be further from the truth!

When I look at the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I remember that. I remember that I’m the one who has been distracted, I’m the one who has been trying to do everything on my own or expecting God to just fix everything without me being a part of the solution. God sees each of us, he knows us all by name. He knows what we’re suffering, our difficulties, and he is with us every moment of our lives in our suffering and when we are joyful. When I remember that he knows me and that he remembers me, I remember not to worry. I feel peaceful again because I have Him by my side. Seeing the Sacred Heart of Jesus reminds me of his love, and I become grateful. I wish the same for all of you this week and beyond.

God bless you.
