From the Pastor’s desk— December 1, 2024
Dear Parishioners,
In honor of Thanksgiving Day this past week, here are my thanks to you. Thank you for welcoming me openly. I have enjoyed meeting your families and giving so many blessings: birthdays, anniversaries, homes, businesses, cars and religious articles to name a few. I’m grateful for the witness of faith from the people of this parish.
Thank you to all our parents. Your children bring so much joy and life to this community. It is not easy to be a parent, I am sure. Family life can be messy, but it teaches us to love. God surely sees the sacrifices you make and is very pleased. By welcoming your children into this world and educating them, you do a great service. Life is truly a precious gift. Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who gives their time and talent to make this community what it is. Special thanks to the pastoral and finance councils, to the Knights of Columbus, Heart-to-Heart, and to all the lead volunteers who come together to make our big events happen. You all accomplish incredible things, from the Festival of Nations to the Garage Sale and Craft/Vendor sale. This parish is always staying active. Thank you also to all of you who just jumped in to help.
Thank you to everyone who supports the church financially. The money that comes in through the collection basket allows us to keep the lights on and maintain the building, but more importantly it allows us to fund our works of ministry. It provides resources for catechesis, outreach, liturgy, festivals and much more. Perhaps most importantly, it allows us to pay our staff who do so much to serve this community. To those who have given donations toward the rectory project, I am very moved by the love you have for your priests.
Finally, a special thank you to our staff. You keep this parish running day in and day out and do an excellent job. You go above and beyond to volunteer around the parish in addition to your work even while taking care of needs at home. Above all, your love for Jesus informs everything you do. The support you give to my work has helped me immensely, especially these first months.
